In order to rate the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) items, individuals must be certified as “reliable CANS raters”, and receive annual recertification. The Coordinated Services Team (CST) Initiative collaborates with the WI Department of Children and Families to utilize their “CANS Tool Online Training and Certification” system.
Counties and Tribes with CST initiatives are required to report data for children enrolled in the areas of education, juvenile justice involvement, living environment, and CANS-Comprehensive scores. This data is entered on a regular basis into the web-based Program Participation System (PPS) data collection system.
Information and updates related to CST are sent via the Wisconsin Department of Health Services GovDelivery system. To be added to the system, please contact Karen Bittner: [email protected].
