What is Wraparound?
Wraparound is a term that describes a team-based process for delivering services to children with emotional and behavioral health challenges in their homes and communities.
The child and their family are centered in the healing process. Their goals, hopes, and dreams provide the direction.
Families join together with service providers and other natural supports from the community to organize a wraparound team. The team works together to create and implement a plan of care that serves as a “roadmap” to guide the provision of services to the youth and family. The team is led by a care coordinator who is trained and experienced in the wraparound process.
This series of video modules will teach the foundations of the wraparound process. It is intended for anyone interested in learning about wraparound, including family members, care providers, and interested community members.
Wisconsin’s Children’s System of Care Initiative helps children facing a behavioral health challenge do better at home, in school, in the community, and throughout life. The vision of this initiative is children and families are valued, understood, and supported in their communities.
